As much as I love Greg Graffin and his finger-wagging power-chorded visions of dystopian madness, it seems history will disprove his (very catchy) prediction from back in ’96 of a world population of 10 million by the year 2010:
The world’s population will hit seven billion early in 2012 and top nine billion in 2050, with the vast majority of the increase coming in the developing countries of Asia and Africa, according to a UN estimate released Wednesday.
Hania Zlotnik, director of the UN Population Division, said that “there have been no big changes” from the previous estimate in 2006.
(quote from the Globe and Mail)
This perhaps does not bode well for Prof. Graffin’s prediction that We’re Only Gonna Die (From Our Own Arrogance).
